Hi, I’m Alex – the Boutique Cruiser.
I started this blog in early 2024 to share my passion for small ship cruising. I first started cruising in 2004 with my first cruise onboard NCL’s Norwegian Jewel. However, it wasn’t until 2018 when I went on a Windstar Cruise to the Caribbean that I was able to experience another side to cruising, an often overlooked side, but something that I think makes cruising the best type of vacation in the world. And that is boutique cruising.
Boutique cruising is all about cruising on small, luxury ships whose main attraction is the places that they go to and the onboard ambience. Boutique ships have between 100 and 600 passengers, unlike the biggest of the mass market cruise ships which have 7600 passengers!
Since then I’ve had the privilege to visit six continents on small ships, including Anatarctica.
This blog is a place where I can share reviews, tips and my passion for small ship cruising.
